I’m no fan of haiku – the Japanese are rightly masters of their artform – Westerners tend to stick down any old tripe, call it Haiku and kinda sit there all smug. I’m equally guilty – I just had a line running through me ‘ead – jotted it down and thought,
“You can pimp this up with a spot of syllable counting.”
It’ll take another pandemic to get me to write another.
“And a good thing too,” from the cheap seats ha ha.
should we not be seeing people dropping dead by now? why this global hysteria I don’t get it. why do they want us home? a friend of mine that expresses his views as a voice in my head asked me “could it be that there is a new Chernobyl/Fukushima they are covering up and want you to stay home?” (writing the next chapter of Email to a Reader) makes more sense than restricting everything for five deaths in Greece when many many others already died from the common flu or in GB, 450 people die each day I read from… Read more »
There is an elephant madness abroad – keep your head down until the storm has blown itself out. As one who endeavours to write poetry I am acquainted with mortality both in mself and others – that it might come silently and suddenly via this invisible enemy intrigues me .
the common fate is a scary thing and the more you avoid thinking about it the more you panic, you have to discuss with your own Death and why not everybody’s or anyone’s on a daily basis to find enough essence in order to write I think something good enough to live long after your demise. tee hee
