Aphrodite and the Schoolboy

Oh how I miss that feeling…

She gave me goosebumps.
caught my breath,
but dropped my heart.
It didn’t break though,
a simple fracture sealed
in the next green rush of desire.
She stilled the wind,
stopped the arching sun,
Earth knocked from her axis.
Later learning she’d had some practice,
such irony made me smile.
A callow youth who’s lack of guile
would see him walk barefoot a mile,
cross shards of broken glass.

I particularly liked the last 5 lines, bittersweet poem, thanks for sharing!
