Looking Back.

Another old one I’m afraid.

Take me away to a day that

was young, to a time long

ago, and a life unsung.

To a page with no title

and lines written feint:

where age was a canvas

awaiting the paint.

I suppose we have this thought in so many ways
To go back in time to the good old days
To a time when we were so young
When we still had songs yet to be sung.

Don’t we all wish this at times…Tony

Sue,hello,
it has been some time. What a heart rendering contribution,I had to read it over and over again. It took me back, and brought tears to my eyes.Thank you for sharing Sue,be lucky, Peter.

Ah yes, and as I’m a year older today this made me think back to those heady days when I was busy spending frivolously the bright coins of my youth.
Glad to see you back, Sue.

Beautiful. Wistful and gently melancholic.
It is short and concise but leaves the reader (me anyway) with a feeling of empathy.
