Xmas doggerel…er…poetry challenge!
Just a bit of fun – feel free to ignore 🙂
XMAS
Christmas comes but once a year,
always buggered, never fear,
by family you cannot stand
(Auntie Mabel, though, is grand).
And when they all seem fit to burst
(and Uncle Sid has quenched his thirst),
time to chill out by the telly,
listening to the rumbling belly
full, digesting Christmas cheer,
until the following gluttonous year.

Although this doggerel is couched in humorous words there is a lot of truth in it, Andrea.
Cheers.
Thanks, Luigi, appreciate it. They always say there’s a core of truth in a joke…:)
Nice and funny. As ever. A welcome change from angst…
My only question – why the inverted comma after g? The missed out letter is surely ‘i’?
Hmmmm, yes, the comma should have gone somewhere, but…er…where>
Uncle Sid sounds like a a good run ashore, Boss.
Good fun.
Cheers,
Jim
Thanks, Jim, I’m with Uncle Sid, me 🙂
Found it Andrea you didn’t code it poetry so it only appears in all submiissions, just me being dumb.
Great fun and I’m with Sid too
Oh, ok, sorry Savvi! Glad you enjoyed though 🙂
How very true and enjoyable.I loved it,and recalled many of Christmas parties of years ago without the telly. I am sure after all the feasting Uncle Sid could be entertaining us all by passing vast amounts of wind,a polite way of describing his farting.Well done Andrea,.Peter xxx
Thanks very much Peter! Haven’t heard from you for a while – hope you’re well!
