Straight to the Point

A sporting achievement.

Because of grandma’s
defective hearing aid
and hubbub in the pub
aunt Nora had no choice
but to talk to her
in a loud voice.
“Have you heard”, she said,
“that our Lizzie strayed
with young Kevin
and is now in the club?”
The conversation hushed,
decibels decreased,
the landlady blushed,
grandma was dismayed.
But the darts team,
engrossed in a game,
didn’t pay any notice
at the mention of his name;
the boy was a novice
and had never scored high
but the spectators
stopped in their tracks
when a triumphant cry
suddenly erupted
as the match ended
with a thrilling climax
“Well done son. That was a bullseye!”

Haha, love the humour and slight naughtiness in this. I actually laughed out loud at the last line. sue.

I liked the humour here, Blessed are we deaf buggers for telling us anything tells the world! 🙂 Well done.
