Dodecaphobia
Not the dreaded Friday 13th.
I have a persistent, abnormal, and irrational fear
of an approaching date that’s dangerously near.
It will hit us shortly before the next week-end
but though we ask people about how they intend
to behave on that fateful day, and not lose hope,
we still do not know if everyone is able to cope.
Forget what you hear about triskaidekaphobia,
this term has been superseded by dodecaphobia.
I have a terror that on the 12th inst a big quake
will happen and we will be lumbered with a rake.
You may be curious but it is no use asking me
who that selected individual might possibly be.
I am one of those foreigners who in their defence
say they have to be neutral and sit on the fence.
The choice by the people will not be the same
so insert on the.…….. line your favourite name.

You have such a gracious way of giving rhythmic voice to the both the everyday and less commonplace with equal skill. I so enjoy reading your delicious work, Luigi.

I may be in danger of repeating myself but will say it nonetheless: flattery will get you everywhere, my dear. Seriously though, I know that your views are sincerely meant and that you’d be the first to point out any shortcomings or shoddy work, I thank you for that.

What a clever spin on current events right from the title onwards! An interesting read Luigi. Much enjoyed. Warm Regards, Gomathi.
A fun write, Gomathi, trying to raise the spirit and allay the electors’ fears on who the next Prime Minister of the UK will be. Some say that it will be the better of two evils. I couldn’t possibly comment. By tomorrow we shall know the result.
