Moving Forward.
Letting go of grief.
You who seek to weep
at sorrows knee,
draw forth the seeping
wound of grief
to flow beyond the reach
of pain, there cast aside
the shattered heart
your soul once more
to gain.

Hi Sue,
One of your best, gets right down to the soul. I love it. I don’t think I can ever let go, but you givs me some hope.Short but so true.
Be lucky,
Peter xxx
Thank you very much, I am hoping the searing intense pain of grief can be allowed to drift, albeit slowly to the deeper recesses of the mind, so we can step forward into the next breath without wishing we didn’t have to. Best wishes sue. X
Loved this, so brief yet saying so much. Beautiful..
Thank you, that’s very kind of you. Sue.
That’s lovely ๐
Thank you very much ๐ sue.
Sue, you had me at the Bronte sentiment all over again! You have such a talent to evoke their kind of emotional expression. The way those particular women spoke their truth in the only manner their generation, their culture allowed. Yes, you had me at hello! At that softly insistent internal rhyme and repeated vowel sound: the wEEping, knEE, grIEf, sEEping; the pain and gain. I not only relate to such heartfelt and painful sincerity, I believe! Writing can help to heal us and you do it particularly well.
Thank you so much for such a lovely compliment I’m really pleased you
felt that way, I like the more old fashioned turn of phrase.
I am trying to write more light hearted poems again but at the moment I still have to get the darker ones off my chest. Sue xx
Lovely short – and good use of internal alliteration in the first half.
Thank you ๐
