No Buses Today

Winter finally arrived in the UK this week, and we had lots of the white stuff. Which inspired me to write this.

We call it snow

and it’s pure white, 

it can fall in the day

and during the night.

It causes schools to close

makes cars slip and slide,

keeps buses off the roads

so sorry – no Ring and Ride.

But kids love the stuff

build a big snowman,

they have hours of fun

enjoy it while they can.

Yet if you’ve got no hair

or your going bald,

best wear a woollen hat

to keep out the cold.

But it’s not here long

so get out your sled,

but if it’s not for you

well better just stay in bed !
