Summer Rain.
Trees hang…
Wet drapes drawing
shade across the day,
the air still,
heavy with tears,
woven
from the night.

A very fine minimalist piece. You encapsulate a great deal in few words.

That’s very kind of you Jolen, thank you. I hesitated about submitting this one as I kind of just thought and wrote. Sue 🙂
Well I’ve never thought of trees looking like those lampshades, but I love the image, I’m very pleased you liked the ‘heavy with tears..’ that turned up at the last minute and I thought it very appropriate to finish with.
I like the thought of those poems read beside a wood fire, and also the thought of a little homely man, I wonder where I could get one 🙂
Thank you for commenting Trevor as I have been in two minds about this one. Sue. x.
Another soft and wistful poem, Sue. Could only be written on a rainy summer’s day. Regards, Mick.
Thank you Mick. I think now the weather has forgotten it’s supposed to be summer, sadly.
