My Medusa , Clementine

Your Medusa smile writhes sly and serpentine

And your lips: they taste of turpentine

Yet you turned my heart to stone

And my blood into a vintage wine

And your bells ring out across London:

Sweet Clementine – Sweet Clementine

Only slightly out of tune

And slightly out of time

What if? Two words you’ve weaponised

As you’re going to blow my mind!

You’re living inside a fantasy world

There’s no sunshine in SanTropez

Drinking wine

All Summertime

Paris is all in your mind

Like New Orleans

Your Medusa words writhe wry and asinine

And your barbs – they hurt me like a porcupine

Yet you turned my soul to stone

And my thoughts – into an endless whine

And your bells ring out across London:

Sweet Clementine – Sweet Clementine

Only slightly out of key

And slightly out of time

What else? Two words you’ve utilised

As you’re trying to blow my mind!

You’re living inside a video game

There’s no sunshine in SanTropez

Stripper Bars

And Mardi Gras

Venice is all in your mind

Like New Orleans

OUTRO:

And your bells ring out across London:

Sweet Clementine – Sweet Clementine

Only slightly out of key

And slightly out of time

Is this love? Three words you’ve brutalised

To totally blow my mind!
