has anyone here ever come across a special circular ruler that has two parts and the smaller one is used to stick your pencil in and start drawing by hitting it randomnly on the round big ruler's inner circle (and ruler is the first word I learned in English by the way)? the drawing at some point would look like this.

Spirograph? Great drawing fun, we had them at primary school in the '60s.
e8 is a theory that sought to plug gaps in our understanding of multi-dimensions as espoused in the popular string theories, where 8 to 10 dimensions can be described. It has thrown up gaps of its own which it has tried to explain through mathematical "tricks" and the introduction of "ghosts", but fundamentally it cannot just create a rule to explain away those anomalies. It is a beautiful theory, but theory of everything, not yet.
