Great to see the selection. This might be the best yet! Good to see Val's work highlighted. I miss her.

Thanks for all your hard work Boss. You have to conquer so much to give us what we all love.
I am delighted to be there and moved by those who voted for my poems. Thank you so much. It means a lot. Two are especially close to my heart and to know they will be in the anthology is a great comfort.

Hoping you are doing ok. Will write soon. Life has got in the way at this end. (What's new lol ) ūüėČ

I was looking at the chosen poetry for this years anthology and I noticed one of mine that I posted in 2015 has been selected, and I wondered if it had been selected by mistake as it is two years before this year's book dates. Sue.

Well I would like to thank Andrea, Richard and John for all their hard work in getting the Anthology sorted out each year.

I don't know about other writers but to have my work acknowledged and published in these books is a huge joy and an honour to me. It means so much to know people read and enjoy something I have written for myself  but have had the privilege of sharing on UKAuthors.

Lets step back and think about things...

We do vote and I have no doubt that those votes are taken into consideration. However, I have my favourite poets, and no doubt you have too. (also prose)

I have long considered the work chosen is motivated by the votes but let’s be honest here.

The people who have to chose the work to be included have to also encourage others.

To be included in the anthology... a great honour for most. I have always understood that some who may be more popular

than others have to take a step back.

Otherwise some would be so much more included that some budding but perhaps tentative would be put off.

Whoever chooses their content has a very difficult job and knowing how hard The Boss tries to keep this site going...(battling life threating health issues) we should support her.

I agree and thank you very much for including two of my poems.

I just noticed that one poem "Remembrance" is listed. Why is it in black as opposed to blue? I just wondered. Pommer.

Pommer, sorry, scrambled reply. Simply a glitch as I retyped a misspelt title.

(added) have edited them all now ūüôā¬†

aha ...I think I can surmise what's happened.

If comments altered we should be informed ?

The plot thickens...Seems that Trevor has been shown the warning, no explanation and no permission to delete his comments.

He is unable to access the site even to retrieve his work. ūüôĀ
He has contacted me but I am as much in the dark as he is.

This does not sit well with me for all sorts of reasons. He and I may have disagreed on some things, that happens... but he was a valuable member who contributed greatly over the years. Fair is fair and this is blatently not fair or a transparent way of going about things.
Unlike some, he posted and interacted with others and I did enjoy his thoughtful comments on my work as he had tremendous insight and read poems well. His work raised the bar for this site and his loss is sad for me.
I loved his work, period.

I dont know what went on behind the scenes but cannot imagine it was serious enough to warrant this way of treating a long-time member.

I am sad to see the problems over the anthology but I do respect people's opinions as being valid to them. I am only concenred about Andrea having to deal with any unpleasantness.
Perhaps our interaction regarding him taking his poems out of the anthology did not help and I apologise if it offended anybody. I considered it mostly tongue in cheek and I think he did too. ūüėČ poets are very emotional and sensitive people so we maybe do over react at times. ūüôĀ
However, I simply cannot begin to imagine the hurt, anxiety and distress to suddenly find that I had been simply shut out as he has.

It's a shameful way to treat somebody.
