After two decades I am asking you English people which tea should I prefer, I need something extra good and cheap enough, I decided it's high time to start having tea not coffee in an attempt to stop headaches

I had a brand a nelson something just had two helped my head but googled it and Lidl withdrew it for carcinogenic stuff and I was wtf?

so tell me which one is cheap good and non carcinogenic

I've never heard of carcinogenic tea brands but Typhoo, PG Tips and Tetley tea bags are very popular in the UK and I've seen them in expat shops abroad. I remember Andrea being very nostalgic for them. There are all sorts of Asian teas as well but I don't know anything about them other than they're more expensive and often drunk without milk.

Beer's more my specialty.  😍

I’ll endorse Tetleys tea.  Comes in little round tea bags (if that’s your preference). Not too strong with a quite mellow flavour.  Beer is good too!

I get Clipper Everyday Organic Tea. I get it sent by Amazon in packs of 6x100 bags. Even with the delivery cost it works out cheaper than getting English tea in Europe. It's good tasting tea. Amazon UK, Amazon France and Amazon NL can supply it.

as you can see I've not been online for at least 24h and this is rare not visiting uka even as a guest or being online.

that bloody tea was the reason of one of the nastiest food poisonings of my life!

here is the link to prove it (and there I was an enemy of Lidl but now? now Lidl is better than the rotten supermarkets that don't withdraw such things!)

I was vomitting tea for 24h and thought I'd die! thanks for your suggestions gentlemen

Well I am not an instant coffee lover Trevor, so I rather like your exciting description, I don't think I will stop coffee not after what happened to me. Lipton seems to have saved my life yesterday though. Just this yellow standard thing. I am sure it deactivated something. Yeah I had one more tea that night. But after finding out this link googling this brand I decided I should not play with fire, little did I know it was too late! and later the vomitting started!

thanks for the info, I had no idea it can be that toxic, but yeah it absolutely made me think I am about to kick the bucket, right after two cups of black tea the brand was lord nelson and lord nelson is a brand lidl has withdrawn in 2019.

I am surprised me not that you remember about the canaries but the fact I mentioned it. I must have been in a terrible condition to have done so.

I found this, what do you all think about it being sold in a jar?

I assume the spoon must be as dry as possible right?

also when I was ten or so I was a sucker for Ridgways sold right across the street (don't ask me why, I am sure that all these books by Blyton, Bronte and Dickens have nothing to do with my sudden obsession to have tea each cold evening and I was a perfectly normal Greek kid) it was the purple one I have not found it what kind of flavor was it? purple Ridgways in the 80's.

meanwhile I found this supplier for Guaj's brand but is it what you like  ?

Herbal tea is not tea

Don’t buy tea from Lidl or Aldi they are German they know fuck all about English tea

Ridgways is good tea I didn’t know could still get it

If you drink English tea don’t forget the milk NOT lemon!!!!!!

anyway I must assume therefore that the only global choice is Lipton. Easy to find and buy and not that expensive, it is so weak, however, that it seems pointless to have a teabag for a second cup and in that next cup it's going to be almost just boiled water with sugar (thankfully no milk or lemon)

I think the most widely distributed English tea blends are Tetleys and PG Tips you can’t go wrong with them

Liptons is American they know nothing about English tea

the one I’ve seen nearly everywhere is Twinings tea sold as loose tea in nice little tins

probably the best way to get the strength you want but of course you need a tea strainer or infuser

i forgot Typhoo I don’t like it but my Mother always bought it

good luck Nic
