Dear Friends
I am afraid that Allen, who has struggled on with ill health for some time, has been diagnosed with Lymes Disease. This is a horrible condition but explains to him his increasing all encompassing fatigue. It can make even writing... a hill to climb... so with his permission, I am letting you all know.
There are many symptoms but fatigue in conditions such as this (and mine on ocaision) have to almost be experienced to understand how debilitating it is. He is frustrated as I am, for both of us want to be more active on the site we hold so dear.
This is a difficult time for many of us.
I shall be back before him, I fear.
He needs to devote all his time to self care and recovery.
I am sure I speak for you all when I say "get well soon and take your time too. We are all thinking about you and wishing you well."
I wrote a poem the other night but did not have the energy to post it lol 😳
Understandably his spirits are low, he's been such a stalwart to the site and a caring individual to so many.
I shall keep you informed of any developements.
best wishes

Many thanks, Alison, for letting us know of Allen's debilitating conditions We have missed his presence on this site and now know the reason why. It is understandable that he needs time to look after his health and we send him our best wishes hoping for improvements.
Good luck Allen, keep taking the antibiotics.
Those little tick blighters are becoming a real problem. There will be a vaccine soon I believe.
Get well soon we miss you 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍
My forestry-worker brother had Lymes for a while and it knocked him for six.
Mojo for Allen (and Alison too).
Good luck Allen, keep taking the antibiotics.

there were various efforts, there still is at least one that I know of, the problem is that the body antibodies do not recognize the pathogen because of Lyme's antigenic properties

Allen best wishes for at least a melioration of Lyme's debilitating effects.
Sorry to hear about Allen's condition. This is a debilitating disease and wish him the best for his recovery. He is a sharp eyed reader and has provided deep insights into the pieces posted on this site.
Thanks Alison. I was aware of Allen's condition (we exchange emails), and as luck would have it I'm also being laid low at present, hence my own absence. All the very best for a recovery for Allen he will be missed meanwhile.
Hello my friends. I am so very grateful for your thoughts and wishes. You are all very kind.
I won't pretend that this has not come as a great blow to me, which not only is affecting my physical and neurological health but mental health too.
I am finding ways to acquire positivity in my mind and hope to be back contributing in the not too distant future. Blessings and love, Allen
Hi All,
I am afraid I am not much better, headaches and nosebleeds to add to my tale of woe.
Many people I know are getting ill. Like Allen, it is affecting me mentally and I am just putting one foot in front of the other at present. Looks like the move will go ahead but it will be about Nov now due to all sorts of hold ups of various things from building materials to gas pipes apparently. I am looking to see what sort of help could be available to help me move as there is no way I can pack etc as things stand but I have a real desire to escape the city and get nearer family as the world gets darker.
Love and best wishes to you all meantime.

Aw, I'm really sorry to hear that, Alison. 😢
You spent a lot of time helping others and karma ought to be giving something back. Everyone here will be pulling for you and griffoner, I'm sure.

@stormwolf Take care and take it easy, especially now that UKAuthors is in limbo. Best wishes, Luigi x
