River bank

poetic microtale (trying to see if this format works better after years and years of editing)

What is it with long black hair almost waving from balconies and ladies fanning their faces, with gardenias, pianos and filigrees delicately piercing nights like consummating newly weds?  What is it with cat burglars jumping on roofs, tripping down roads with their pockets full of diamonds, and paintings with murky oil paint windmills, glades and grapevines?  What is it with old leather bound books piling dust in bookcases made of cherry-wood?  What is it with gondoliers, and with river banks caressing water, witnessing how logs go with the flow, shadowing momentarily pieces of rock of collapsing mountains, small descending parts escaping from their upwardness resting deep in the liquidity of rivers, appropriate in the scheme of things and hauntingly pleasing…

I don’t have the patience to mess around with format but you ask an interesting question I should try and think about it

In the meantime where the fuck is everyone?

It has definitely worked with me Nic. What a range! Massive! Keep them flowing.

Hi Nic,
Not sure if this reminds me more of Salvador Dali, or Egyptian Hieroglyphics? The imagery is fabulous and the journey left me breathless… ‘hauntingly pleasing’ … yes, exactly. Love it
cheers,
