We Oft Forget

We live and die

we hope and dream

between sleep

and awake

We hope and we dream

We want and we need

we hate and loathe

between here

and eternity

We hate and we loathe

We’re good and bad

we love and dream

and hate and loathe

and kill and destroy

and we pick up the pieces

We think and we learn

We think that we learn

but between us

we oft forget

about hope and dreams.

We think that we learn Aye, there’s the rub, Jay!

This reads like a sort of rondeau – of your own making I assume – but how medieval and French of you!

Seriously, some thoughtful observations within this piece. Very contemplative, and yes, we do forget. bel 🙂

Hopes and dreams fall through the seams and life becomes strife. You’re quite right and it’s sad when we look back and say “If only I’d followed my dream” Loved this.
