Poetry: School Christmas - by Corin (286 words) - Date online (23-12-2005)
Horror

Typing this out to post I found it difficult to believe that I had written it in December 1971 and that it should still be so relevant today and especially that British armed forces should be the ones behind the precision aimed bombs! At the time it referred to the Bangla Desh War of Independence. For any who miss the other reference - the moving mountain of mud was the 1966 Aberfan disaster:- http://www.nuff.ox.ac.uk/politics/aberfan/home2.htm

I hope this can be part of a fictional work someday. Thanks in advance for any comments any of you would like to throw in... basically it draws some unlikely analogies but then war, as it has been said, is hell... and murder and death tend to overtake life at times...Thanks a lot for reading!

Poetry

*Influenced by a surly teenage yuletide when, to my shame, I snapped and told my late Gran to ‘Fuck off!’ She had been attempting to force-feed me a sprout all afternoon! Do yourselves a favour, my fellow Ukaneers, if an elderly sprout pusher tries to force-feed you over the holiday period - just say, ‘Yes!’. The alternative guilt trip is far less palatable. Believe. *None of this is true. Thanks.
