Poetry: Unspeakability 17-10-2008 - by Aurelio   (100 words)
Poetry

concerning our insufficiency

There is so much more to talk about,
there is so much there to say,
that words are not enough,
they can not match our feelings,
no expression can fulfil our purpose,
and the words we say just trifle our intention
and bring down the truth to trivialities
and thus are unfair to our love.
My heart would ache out torrents of my blood
to match what I would like to sacrifice to you
in pious prayers of the noblest wishes,
but not even oceans of my blood would be enough
but merely a shadow of what truth would crave from me
to make the need of our communion any justice.

Love, I once heard, is a many splendid thing. That's all well and good, but it's not going to help me set up a wireless network throughout your home. Oh no. For that you need patience, a 24 hour telephone helpline and a turnip. I think you'll agree, probably my most useless comment to date. I feel somehow cleansed. I blame Imperial leather.

Myself I am happy to blame everything on the weather, which just couldn't be more Imperial.
