I liked this poem. But, for information, it is not a ‘haiku’. But that doesn’t count against it.
In case you are interested, a haiku in English has 17 syllables in three lines 5/7/5.
And must contain a ‘season word’ and what is called a turning point, where the mood changes.
However, especially on us websites, people call almost anything a ‘haiku’. I would prefer the term ‘modern haiku’ if they are have to be called haiku at all.
But as I said, it’s a good poem, haiku or not.
